Hop-on, Hop-off Bus

On Monday, Feb 29th, we jumped on the hop-on, hop-off bus and spent 4 hours touring the city, seeing all the important sites. We continued to be very impressed by Buenos Aries.  We also jumped on the bus again on Tuesday to continue our site-seeing tour of the city, visiting the famous Recoleta Cemetery, where Eva Duarte Peron is buried, and ending up at the Teatro Colon.

The open air bus was a fun way to see the city

The tour took us to all the major neighbourhoods of the city,
even ones we didn't want to go to

We saw lots if beautiful buildings and large statues/monuments.

The new town area had many large modern sky scrapers

Buenos Aries has two major soccer teams who are arch rivals.
They each have a massive stadium as their home base

This is the Hipodrom of Argentina, which is a popular place.
Pretty fancy for a race track

This is the Argentine parliament buildings

This is the National Bank of Argentina

The "Pink Palace" is where Evita made her famous speeches to the people.

There are massive Gum trees in the parks with huge root systems

The art work around the city was very creative.
We saw several "mannequin style" pieces.

This one was in a restaurant where he had lunch

We saw several local doggie daycare centres in the city.

Avenue 9th of July is the widest street in the world, over 22 lanes across
