Cape Horn

This morning we arrived at Cape Horn, the most southerly part of South America. It was very rough and windy at the cape and brought home how difficult it must have been for the early explorers to sail around the tip.  Many didn't make it and the sea there has lots of ships buried under it.

There is a naval station located on the cape island where
people are stationed for six months duty

That's the cape directly behind us

We were not alone. Tourism down to the cape is big business in the summer time.
