Lazy Sunday in Santiago on Valentine's Day

Today we had a lazy day, starting with sleeping in.  After our breakfast, we took the subway downtown and took the funicular trolley to the top of San Cristobal hill. This is part of a huge park that rises over 850 metres.  On top of the hill stands a huge white statue of the Virgin Mary that looks out over the city.  The views from the top of the city were spectacular. You got a good perspective of how big Santiago is with its 7.5 million population.  It fills the vast valley between 2 mountain ranges.

Tonight Charlotte and I went out to a romantic Valentines dinner and enjoyed the time together.  Luv ya Babes!

The view of Santiago from the top was beautiful. It showed how spread out the city was.

It also showed how much pollution there was trapped in the valley
between two mountain ranges.

Our hotel was very close to the tallest building in Santiago

The statue of the Virgin Mary is similar to the one in Rio and dominates the landscape
