Punta Arenas - CANCELLED

Unfortunately, we were not able to visit Punta Arenas today, as the winds were too high to safely operate the tenders. The winds were gusting to over 100+km/hr and the harbour master closed the harbour to all boats.

We set sail at mid-morning for our next port of call, sailing through the famous Straights of Magellan southwards to Ushuaia, Argentina.  As we left port a beautiful rainbow formed to give us hope for better weather for the rest of our trip.

Our sail down the straights and into the Beagle Channel was a pleasant surprise. Our original schedule had us doing this during the night and we would have missed seeing it. The scenery was breathtaking.

Onward we go!

The Straights of Magellan were a treat.  It was neat to sail
where Ferdinand did centuries ago.

The scenery was very beautiful sailing through the straights on a misty day
